Once upon a time in the UK there was a man named Gerald Ratner

He was the  chief executive of the formely known Ratners Group – A jewellery chain

His business philosophy was “the people who shouted the loudest and appeared to give the best offers sold the most.” 

Even after sinking sales by revealing the poor nature of his stock, and laughing at his consumers – he does deserve respect.

 

He showed us  the value of branding and image over quality.

This technique is considered to be one of the most effective, and many online agencies use it. 

 

It’s one thing to buy  a pair of earrings… on which he commented his earrings were,

“cheaper than an M&S prawn sandwich but probably wouldn’t last as long.”
